Last winter, UCI’s technology leaders teamed up to sponsor a new certificate program, which kicked off in February 2022 and has since graduated two successful cohorts.
LEAP, the first program of its kind at UCI, stands for Leadership, Equality, Allies & Presence and is designed for those in informational technology and STEM roles seeking to advance their career through leadership, influence, communication and confidence.
The program was developed in partnership with the Leadership Development Institute at UCI’s Paul Merage School of Business and Women in Technology at UCI, which exists to connect, inspire and empower women in technology at UCI to reach their full potential as innovators and leaders.
We invite you to participate in the LEAP Program for Women in Technology:
Spring 2023 Session: April 5 – May 12
Each cohort will meet weekly for 4 hour sessions, mostly via Zoom, and will include faculty lectures, peer coaching and breakout discussion groups.
This interactive program covers topics including
- How to build an authentic personal and organizational leadership presence for maximum performance
- Effective strategies and tools for enhanced career management
- Networks, Mentors, Sponsors & Allies: How to find them and how to be them
- Negotiation Strategies for Women
- Getting Comfortable with Uncomfortable Conversations
- High-Performance Leadership – The Woman’s Way
- Women in STEM Panel
We hope you decide to take the LEAP and join us in helping prepare women in IT to find their voice and not just take a seat at the leadership table but to leverage their unique skills to create and shape these tables.
“Enriching interpersonal relationships, fostering trust and empowering was at the core of the whole program. The way the material was blended and incorporated with practical exercises made for effective and impactful learning. I would definitely recommend the course to anyone who is looking to improve their leadership skills and wants a path to continue learning and evolving as a person.”
