Sami Fong was the Student Intern for the Student and Academic Services division at UC Irvine’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) from June 2021 to March 2022. During her work as a second year undergraduate student, she completed work for Women in Tech initiatives such as the Applause program to recognize notable women, hosted an Allyship Webinar, helped establish the Better Allies Book Club, and played a large role in WiT’s “Closing the Gap” presentation regarding gender inequality. She is now pursuing her degree in economics and is set to graduate in 2024.
