Jennifer Lane has been working for UCI in a few different roles for 19 years now. Currently, she’s in her 14th year as Director of Computing for the School of Social Ecology. This includes Windows Admin, Linux admin, all of the School’s websites, and desktop support for all faculty, staff, labs, and graduate students.
In addition to her full-time role, she also serves on various committees across campus, including email phishing, IT Research Security, and the Academic and Professional Women’s organization. She has been instrumental in working with central IT to improve research computing and streamlining the process in which the faculty move from research proposal to research reality.
Prior to UCI, she spent more than 6 years in various software companies working in various types of IT jobs including tech support, quality assurance, and project management, supervising in most of those roles.
